My Health and Care Directory

The Health and Care Directory is a useful tool to search for local NHS & related services. It can be found here or downloaded from the Play Store etc

Nationwide Carer Support

As our name suggests, we support Carers in Northamptonshire we can point you in the right direction if your caring role crosses county borders.

Strictly speaking the responsibility for providing Carers Assessments lies with the local authority where the person you care for lives, which may differ from you the Carer. Despite this, we try to maintain a common sense approach and even if we can't complete a formal assessment you are more than welcome to contact our Carers Support Line for advice & information as well as attending one of our Support Groups or Carers Cafes.

If you are unsure which Local Authority covers your area, or that of the person you care for this can be checked here.

Carers Trust

Although we are an independent charity, we are a Network Partner of Carers Trust who work to improve support, services and recognition for the 7 million living with the challenges of caring in the UK. If you or the person you care for live outside of Northamptonshire, there may be a Network Partner in your area who could provide support.

Recovery College

The Recovery College NHFT offer you a range of different courses to help you support yourself and others to understand health conditions and help with recovery.

Courses are designed to support you to take control of your own wellbeing, despite any health challenges you may have. They are produced and presented by a health professional and someone who has personally experienced their own health issues. Courses are related to mental health, physical health, as well as workshops on wellbeing and opportunities to become more involved in our community.

Who is this service for?  Our courses are available for people over 18 years old, living in Northamptonshire, who are NHFT current and previous service users, their family and friends, Carers, members of partner organisations, and NHFT staff and are free to attend.

Other Support

Often caring for a loved one requires expert information on different health conditions. There are lots of specific organisations that maybe able to help. We hope you find this list useful, please contact us if you have details of an organisation to be considered for inclusion.

Please note that we are listing these organisations as we believe that they will be of relevance to Carers however we are not able to recommend any of these or be held responsible for any information or support that they may provide.
