Assistive Technology – What is it?

Assistive technology (AT) is any item, piece of equipment or software that is used to increase, maintain, or improve an individual’s ability to perform daily tasks.  It is designed to support security and safety, whilst providing a less intrusive living environment.

Assistive Technology (AT) can support individuals with:

• Epilepsy
• Hearing difficulties
• Sight impairment
• Forgetfulness
• Physical frailty and who are prone to falls
• Learning disability
